Congratulations to Susi Hamilton and Reid Wilson

We are delighted to congratulate Rep. Susi Hamilton, who was named by Gov. Roy Cooper to be the secretary of the state Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and Reid Wilson, who will be chief deputy secretary.

Hamilton led development efforts in Wilmington and has represented parts of Brunswick and New Hanover counties since 2011. Wilson is one of us: a conservationist. He also serves as the executive director of the Conservation Trust for North Carolina.

We admire the work of the Conservation Trust for North Carolina. For over two decades, the organization works with local land trusts, landowners, and communities to protect streams, forests and parks.  They protect natural lands along the Blue Ridge Parkway, help with 23 local nonprofit land trusts, and connect citizens to the outdoors.

Congratulations, Susi and Reid! We look forward to the great things you will do.
